Love and Submission
When we think of the word love and submission, a whole lot comes to mind especially for the word love. My main view is not on their definitions but on a part of scripture that brings them together as it relates to marriage.
Ephesians 5:22-25
I found a uniqueness in submission and love coming together and I thought to share. I want speak on the submission primarily.
In choosing husbands, submission on the part of the wife is key because it brings obedience, respect and as well Love. Submission is having direct power and authority and dropping it at the feet of your husband because God says so and it may not be easy but Love from the man goes a long way in making it easier.
In choosing a man we are too quick to say we need a friend we can play with, insult and even give a knock on the head without anything happening which on its own is not a crime. You can have a man of same age range, status , class and so on but be sure that when you are done with the play, you can still go on your knees and give him a cup of water and call him my Lord.
We are quick to go for men that we can’t call a head or treat as one but expect them to be one, that magic almost never happens. The man has to love you unconditionally and you have to be willingly to submit to his Lordship. When you do this, it will not be hard for you to stop a few things when asked to, or to abide by set rules he has laid down because just as God is the head of the church and we trust him completely, we trust our husbands, who is the head to know just what he is doing. Marriage indeed is beyond feelings especially for the ladies you have to put your feelings aside and ask your self certain questions about the man you are about to say yes I do to:
Can I call him Lord?
Can I trust his decisions?
Can I present a glass of water on my knees?
Does he love me unconditionally?
Can he provide and protect him (Be the head he ought to be) ?
If you are not sure of these answers then maybe you have to really slow down with that thing called marriage because trust me it’s better to be single and happy than married and miserable .
